Honeyqueen Raspberry
Honeyqueen Raspberry
The Honeyqueen raspberry is a hardy yellow-fruited floricane raspberry that offers a unique taste experience. Developed by Robert Erskine in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, this exceptional variety is celebrated for its mild and sweet honey-like flavour, distinguishing it from traditional red raspberries.
The berries, averaging 2 cm (¾") in size, are soft and succulent when picked, reaching their peak ripeness in mid-August. Their vibrant orangy-yellow hue adds a splash of colour to your garden and table. Whether enjoyed straight from the bush, blended into juices, or incorporated into desserts, the Honeyqueen raspberry will surely please any palate.
Growers Note:
Canes must be pruned yearly to maintain health and productiveness. In the fall (or early spring before they break dormancy) remove all two year old (brown and woody) canes. You can go further and thin out excess first year old (green) canes until you are left with approx. 7-15 cm (3-6") spacing between the remaining canes.
Allow 40-60 cm (16-24") spacing and 2.4 meter (8') minimum between rows
