How to Order and Shipping

How to Order

Please read the technical descriptions for each plant to be well informed of the optimal hardiness zone and planting conditions required for each species you will plant. Preparing a proper planting site is important as well as determining if the Plant Hardiness Zone of your location is suitable. If you need any help or have questions feel free to contact us.

Shipping Information

Once you purchased your desired cultivars, you will receive a confirmation email. Please make sure you receive this or find it in your junk mailbox: if you find it here please add us to your contact list so you do not miss any other important emails from us.

Shipping takes place in the spring following your online purchase when the plants are still dormant. Prairie Hardy Nursery will reach out to you by email to determine the most suitable date of shipping for your climate, ranging from the end of April to end of May.

Your trees will be shipped on a Monday to minimize time in freight and should arrive within one to seven business days depending on your location and preferred method (Expedited Parcel).

Usually Alberta and Saskatchewan orders are received in 2 to 4 business days, Manitoba around 4 to 5 business days and Eastern Canada/Yukon between 5 to 7 business days.

An email notification with a tracking number will be emailed so you can track your package.

Mail service is our primary method and our preferred mail courier is Canada Post. We ship from mid-April to mid-May each spring depending on snowmelt at our planting sites. Fall shipping can be done on request but is not recommended and warranty will be voided.

It is recommended to increase your order size to offset your shipping cost, perhaps combining an order with a friend or garden community member could be advantageous.

Sorry, but we do not ship to the USA or British Columbia at this time due to regulations.

Early spring you can find us at Seedy Saturday in Calgary and Seedy Sunday in Edmonton. Please check our Facebook and Instagram pages for upcoming event information.
