Favoritka is a large yellow-green pear with a pink blush. It’s a delicious Russian bred pear that is buttery, juicy, sweet and savory. Great to use for fresh eating and using in preserves. It’s known to produce well and pears average around 200 grams in weight. Fruits mature in middle of September and store for 1 to 2 months in cold storage. Known to be one of the best pears grown in the Ural region in Russia.
This is a newer variety that is growing in our orchards. It holds a lot of promise for colder climate growing and so far has done well for us. It may be worth trying to experiment with growing the Favoritka pear in zone 2 climates.
