Collection: Apple Trees
Apple trees are sold as 1 year old whips between 0.3-1 meter (1-3 feet) in height. Our apples are grafted on both Ranetka and Siberian Crabapple full sized rootstock.
Dwarf sized apple trees are also available and grafted on Vineland 3 (V3) apple rootstock. These can be selected on menu next to product description. Dwarf rootstocks grow shallower root systems and perform best with staking and regular watering.
Apple trees are self-sterile and will benefit when planted alongside another variety to pollinate them. Apple trees like to grow in fertile, well drained soil. You should plant full sized trees 5-6 meters (16-20 feet) apart. For Dwarf sized trees you can plant them 2.4-3 meters (8-10 feet) apart. We do have some varieties that produce after 3 years but on average you can expect most to fruit at 5 years of age. Refer to the “Planting and Care” page for more information.
